“You can’t score a goal if you don’t take a shot.”

We can draw plenty of parallels between sports and life when it comes to time management, coaching, drive, success and failure.

Ultimately, we have to bring ourselves to the game of life and how we play matters more than the end result. In this episode, we sit down with soccer superstar, Jonathan Campbell. He is Seattle Sounders’ newly acquired defender who played for the Chicago Fire until recently.

Some questions we ask:

  1. Growing up, what did you dream about doing later in life? (2:00)
  2. How did you feel when you found out that you were going to play professional soccer? (6:00)
  3. What was your back-up plan if you did not get drafted for Chicago Fire (7:00)
  4. Outside of soccer, can you tell our listeners how you show up in other areas of your life? (11:00)
  5. How do you bring your core beliefs and mindset from soccer to life?  (15:00)
  6. Can you recall an uncomfortable situation where you stepped out of your comfort zone? (18:00)
  7. With you moving from Chicago to Seattle, what are you the most scared about? (21:00)
  8. Who are your role models? (25:00)

He fills us in on his journey, why he chose a job he loves and never has to work a day in his life.

Bend it like..Campbell!
